Otero & Silva Crowned Matosinhos 1000 Champions and Cement No. 1 Ranking

AirDesigners had promised a major footvolley celebration in Matosinhos, Portugal — and the final 1000 tournament of the 2026 season delivered.
At the top of the podium were Rodrigo Otero and Juan Silva, who claimed their first 1000 title together. After an incredibly consistent season across Europe, the victory further cemented their position as No. 1 in the international League of Champions ranking.
The runners-up were Beto Correia and Kleyber Xavier Silva from C.D. Santaluziense, who produced an impressive run on home soil.
Another breakthrough came from Jakob and Klemens Hofmann-Wellenhof, with the brothers reaching their first-ever semifinal at a 1000 tournament. Their run eventually ended against Hertha BSC's Joel Nisslein and Mitch Weber, who secured a place on the podium.
Yosy & Antonia Take the Women's Title
The women's tournament brought together two of Europe's biggest names, as Yosy Silva and Antonia Missethan joined forces in Matosinhos. The new partnership lived up to expectations, taking the title ahead of Mariana Felisberto and Clara Bezerra from CT Alan Cavalcanti.
The victory also puts Yosy Silva at No. 1 in the women's ranking with 3,800 points, followed by Antonia Missethan with 2,800 points.
With the final 1000 event completed, attention is increasingly turning towards the League of Champions Finals in Faro. And it is not only the individual rankings worth watching: the club ranking will determine the qualification quota for the Finals, making every result across the season count.
Matosinhos was another reminder of how quickly European footvolley is developing — and now, the race to Faro is on.
