Cullera 500: Back Where European Footvolley Began

The Mediterranean Footvolley Cup brought the League of Champions to a very special place in the history of the sport: Playa de San Antonio in Cullera.
It was here in 1993 that the first footvolley competition in Europe was held. More than three decades later, European footvolley returned to the same beach for another weekend of top-level competition.

Facu SILVA & JOEL CORTES WINS THE 500

In the 500 tournament, Facu Silva and Joel Cortes took the title after a thrilling 2–1 victory in the final, making the win even sweeter for Joel on his home beach. Daine Morris and Lukki came incredibly close to the title, with Daine reaching his first League of Champions final.
Iaco and Miquel joined forces at the last minute and still managed to claim third place, while Robert and Jona from Alicante produced one of the surprises of the weekend by reaching the top four.

Guillem & Charly Take the 100

In the 100 tournament, Guillem Torres and Charly proved to be a rock-solid partnership, using their defensive strength to go all the way and claim the title.
Marco de Mello from BCN and Luisinho reached the final in their very first tournament together, while old-school player Edu Baquero and Kevin from Karlsruhe turned another last-minute partnership into a third-place finish.
Vini Silva and Keyvan completed the top four after another surprise run.
From the first European tournament in 1993 to the Mediterranean Footvolley Cup today, Playa de San Antonio continues to be part of the story of European footvolley.
