LAZIO TAKES FIRST EVER GOLD IN VILANOVA 500
Male winners Vilanova 500
The Vilanona 500 delivered a spectacular weekend of footvolley, as Europe’s best teams gathered in perfect conditions on the Catalan coast.
Hosted by BCN Footvolley, one of the largest and most vibrant footvolley communities in Europe, the event combined elite competition with an electric beach atmosphere. With sunshine, packed courts, and a constant flow of high-level matches, Vilanova became the center of European footvolley.
The tournament victory went to Lazio Footvolley, with Federico Iacopucci and Ludovico Alonzi claiming their first-ever League of Champions title. Their level throughout the tournament was exceptional — composed, explosive, and fearless. For this Italian dupla, it feels like only the beginning.
Second place went to the Portuguese surprise team CT Alan Cavalcanti, with João Alcantra and Carlos Eduardo Paulino dos Santos. Starting all the way from Friday qualifications, they played beautifully technical footvolley all weekend and fought their way into the final — one of the standout stories of the event.
Third place once again went to Politécnico do Porto, with Juan Silva and Rodrigo Otero, continuing their strong and consistent 2026 season.
Just behind them, Dennis Weber and Michael Weber confirmed their return to top-level competition with another top 4 finish.
The women’s tournament delivered one of the highlights of the weekend. In a thrilling final, Antonia Missethan and Julia Rauch, representing BCN Footvolley, faced off against Yosy Silva and Kayla Faria from Serfay. In front of an energized crowd, the Barcelona duo secured the win in an amazing comeback and a match that showcased the growing level of the women’s game.
With incredible matches, perfect weather, and a powerful local community behind it, Vilanova 500 showed exactly what European footvolley is becoming.
