London 100 Makes Footvolley History in the UK 🇬🇧🏆
The London 100 marked a historic milestone as the first international footvolley tournament ever held in the United Kingdom. Hosted by SideOut Footvolley, the event welcomed players from across the UK alongside visitors from Portugal, France and Sweden, proving that British footvolley is ready to take its place on the European stage.
The men's title was claimed by the exciting young duo Lucas "LC" Rodrigues and Fellype Lopes, representing Swindon Footvolley. Still only 18 years old, LC announced himself as one of Britain's brightest emerging talents, while the pair showed remarkable composure to win a thrilling three-set final against Portugal's Zé Moura and João Moreira.
Swindon Footvolley enjoyed an outstanding weekend, with founder João Paulo de Oliveira ("JP") also reaching the podium alongside Raphael Oliveira, while another Swindon partnership, Icaro Da Rosa and Nicolas Campanha, impressed by reaching the semifinals in their very first tournament together.
The women's competition produced another memorable final. Nathielly Antunes of SideOut Footvolley joined forces with Amanda Sardeli from Birmingham Footvolley, combining youth and experience to capture the title after a hard-fought three-set victory over Raiane Souza and Natalia Moura of the newly established Loughborough Footvolley.
Beyond the results, London 100 highlighted the rapid growth of the women's game in Britain, with players from SideOut, Birmingham, Loughborough and Swindon all reaching the latter stages of the tournament.
Perhaps the biggest success of the weekend was not a trophy, but what it represented. Talented young players, experienced competitors and passionate club builders came together to create an event that felt both highly competitive and incredibly welcoming.
With two thrilling finals, international participation and an enthusiastic local community, London has officially joined the European footvolley map.
