The 2026 League of Champions season kicked off in spectacular fashion this weekend with the inaugural Stockholm 100, marking the first-ever League of Champions tournament in Sweden. The event delivered exactly what fans had hoped for: elite-level footvolley, exciting new duplas, and an impressive standard worthy of a 100-category tournament.

From the opening matches, it was clear that the level was exceptionally high. Established top teams mixed with newly formed duplas, creating unpredictable matchups and an electric atmosphere throughout the tournament. The indoor facilities in Stockholm provided a perfect setting, allowing players to perform at their highest level and giving spectators a close-up experience of world-class footvolley.

The tournament title was claimed by Juan Silva, the Brazilian star now living in Portugal, together with Isli Bejtega – who were in top form. Representing Team Isli, the duo showed consistency, flair, and tactical maturity throughout the competition, ultimately lifting the trophy after a strong final performance.

Second place went to Joel Nisslein and Roman Uhr from Hertha Berlin, who once again proved why they are considered one of Europe’s most solid and well-organized clubs. The Hertha duo’s run to the final highlighted the growing depth and professionalism of European Club Footvolley.

One of the tournament’s most exciting storylines came from Bergen Footvolley, who reached the semifinals with, among others, Jonas Øvsthus. Øvsthus is regarded as one of Europe’s emerging talents, and his performance in Stockholm confirmed that he is very much a player to watch in the coming years.

Beyond the results, the Stockholm 100 was a celebration of the sport itself—bringing together the best established players and the next generation on the same court. The combination of elite competition, new partnerships, and top-tier organization made the event a landmark moment for the League of Champions.

With Stockholm setting a strong tone for the season, attention now turns to the next stop on the tour: Amsterdam 500 in March, where the stakes—and the spectacle—will be even higher.
